KELLAH'S BLOG

24th April 2013

Kellah arrived at Hula very sad and despondent after she had lost her owner who had loved her dearly. Kellah found kennels difficult and resided in one of our quiet rooms but during the day she was queen of the office.

Kellah has the most beautiful eyes and with time and care her eyes began to twinkle and her wonderful loving nature captured everyone's hearts. Kellah left us this afternoon with her very proud new Dad adorning her new collar and looking as happy as could be as she headed off to her new life and home.

Everyone at Hula would like to wish Kellah and her Dad a wonderful life together as they both so deserve.

We will miss her and Hula but know this very special girl will be much loved.

During her stay at HULA Kellah was very fortunate to find a special volunteer friend, Jenna, who helped her write a wonderful blog.

Hello again,

Jenna popped in to see me today and I was so happy to see her.

Jenna she said we were off for a little walk. It was so cold out that I had to wear my coat - as you can see it’s a bit on the bright side. But it keeps me warm with all the snow we have had.

Photo of Kellah dog
We walked down the drive as the field was all wet and muddy because of all the snow. As we got closer to the gate I started to think I was leaving but Jenna said not today.....but one day it will be my turn.

We walked back up the drive I made sure we were walk on the left side of the drive so that when we passed the house I could drag Jenna to the caravan as I like it in there where we can have a play with the toys and it's warm.

Once we were in the caravan I wriggled out of my coat and took off my lead so I was free to have a rummage around.

Once I was happy I had checked out everywhere in the caravan I was ready for Jenna to take some photos of me. But she knows I don’t work for free so I was waiting for the treats to come out!

Photo one - with treats in my line of sight I'm a good girl!

Photo two - Yummy!! Got the treat from photo one.

Once she had finished taken photos we had to wrap up in our coats again to go out it the cold. But I didn’t want my bright YELLOW coat so what do you think to this coat?

I liked it but Jenna didn’t think the yellow one suited her so I had to have that one back.

We headed back to the office where I have been staying and helping out.

I have fun with Jenna going on adventures and posing for photos for my Dog Blog I hope you all enjoy reading them.

Its time for me to say bye now. WOOF!

Hi everyone sorry it has been so long the days are flying by, it is already March!

My photographer Jenna come to see me today. I was so happy when she walked in as I knew it was time for a long walk, fun and treats while posing for photos!

She had to come find me as I wasn’t in my room today I was at WORK! In the office. I like being in the office as I get to see lots of people come and go and they all say hello and give me hugs. So I don’t get lonely.

Photo of Kellah dog
We headed off out of the office Jenna told me we were going to walk though the fields up to the rail track, it is a nice long walk there and back with lots of things to explore on the way.

I will lead the way.
(off I go!)

It was lovely to get out for a good walk, sometime us dogs at Hula get bored of walking around the same field day in day out so it is great when the lovely volunteers come and take us off site for a walk.

I was enjoying being out on the fields having a good look.

I am a good explorer and love nothing more than jumping in the long grass and rummaging in the bushes. But, have you ever seen and tree climbing dog?

Now you have!

After I had finished in the tree we headed towards the train tracks.

Jenna kept saying we needed to look and listen out for the train when we got up to the track. She kept forgetting I am an office dog.
....(I can read the sign)

Once the train had gone we started to head back to the hula farm but I still had a few more thing I wanted to look at before we got back.

We had been out for an hour and half so it was time to get back to work welcoming the people that were visiting Hula, making sure they see me as I'm still waiting for my new home.

Well it has been good catching up with you all.

Until next time.

Hello again, I'm back!

Okay I don't want this blog to be a boring rant about the weather, but have you seen it lately? Now, there are some dogs here at Hula that like the rain and the mud and getting all messy, I am not one of them, as I'm a Lady

On our last meeting my photographer and I had discussed going into the runs and playing with the toys, but when she came it was raining again and neither of us wanted to be covered head to toe in mud, so we went to the barn where we could stay dry.

Even so look what it did to my feet walking there!

One thing humans need to learn is that they think we dogs only know that you have treats because we can smell them. I just wanted to let you know that we have eyes too.

They are in that Pocket!

As I said we had gone into the barn were it was dry and out of the cold wind, I was very excited as there was lots of things to do.

Photo of Kellah dog

I was having fun playing in the hay walking around the barn making sure I had a good smell of everything, there were so many smells some good and some not so good, I saw a couple of aniamls which the humans call Pigs (smelly!!)

Photo of Kellah dog
I found a ride on a grass cutter so I climbed on thinking I could help around the farm but I couldn’t get it moving. As I was sat there I caught another scent, so off I went to check it out.

Photo of Kellah dog
IT WAS THESE TWO FUNNY LOOKING DOGS!!!!

The humans tell me they are called Goats NOT dogs, but they wanted to play with me and eat my treats. I wasn’t having that so I wanted to getout of there...

I got my coat on as we were heading out in the rain which I don’t really like but I was not going to share my treats and cuddles with the funny looking Dogs! (goats) I’m a staffie and we need the most cuddles.

Photo of Kellah dog
Told you I don’t like the rain look at my face in this picture, NOT HAPPY!

I can’t wait for the summer when it will be nice and warm.

You can see all that mud on my feet, the humans don’t have to worry they have nice warm shoes on but my feet get chilly.

I was being good though even if I didn’t like the rain I was just hoping there would be more treats.

It was time for her to go but before we got back to my room she just had time for a few more photos for me to share with you and of course that means I get a few more delicacies, and these were the best ones....SAUSAGES!

I had fun today in the barn shame about the rain. I really want to play in the runs with the toys.

Everyone please wish for drier weather next time my friend comes. (paws crossed!)

Well until next time...

Love,
KELLAH

Hello everyone!

So I have been told that I need to start moving with times and get myself online!

I have decided that I'm going to start writing a blog for the Hula website, the humans may also put it on Facebook and Twitter, who knows.

Photo of Kellah dog
After speaking to the humans about this wonderful idea, I have been told they will get me a lady with a camera to take me out for walks and take photos of me so that I can add them to my blog, to let you all see what I get up to...

Okay let us begin. This is me Kellah.

  • I’m a 8 year old Staffie cross.
  • I came to Hula after my owner passed away, I miss them so much.

Everyone at Hula is so nice and they are all trying to fine me a new forever home.

The lady I was told was coming to take photos of me turned up today. It was lovely to meet her and she said that I was a cutie (well state the obvious!). She seems nice, especially once I had sniff out the treats that she had in one of her pockets! (I will find them later I thought to myself!)

We started to walk over to the runs where I could see all the toys waiting for me to play with but the grass was full of water so she said we couldn’t go in and play. I was not best pleased as I had been looking forward to running around playing with toys. Looking back though she saved me from a bath so she isn't all bad.

Photo of Kellah dog
We went for a bit of a walk around the fields which was nice, she wanted me to sit so she could take a photo of me, but I'm a little camera shy so wouldn’t look at the camera.

All I was thinking was that I wanted to play with all the toys over in the runs but then my nose caught a scent, OMG It was the treats!!!

She had opened the treat pocket it smelt so good, she obviously knew my weakness, I will do anything for a treat. She ask me to sit, I did, so she gave me a treat, it was SO tasty. She said I was a good girl! (Again with the obvious)

The camera was snapping away but I wanted more treats so I decided to show her my trick. I can beg with both paws in the air! She loved it so gave me another treat (humans so easily pleased. LOL!). One day if she is lucky I may let her get a photo of it but let's see if the treats are better next time! She has to earn it.

Photo of Kellah dog
It started to get cold outside so I showed her to the caravan where we can go to have some quiet time and hugs (I really miss the hugs). We spent a little while there relaxing and having a cuddle. I could have stayed there all day but soon it was time for her to go home. She told me she had dogs of her own at home to walk (as if I didn't know), but she did say that she will be back for more walks and hugs soon. I will let you know when she comes back and what we get up to on our walks together.

Until next time...

Kellah
