Suzie (formerly Sue) was found as a stray and came to Hula back in September 2008. In late September Jon and I came to meet the cats and see if any liked us and to meet Sue specifically.
Suzie was in her basket when we arrived and didn't move possibly because she has selective hearing - according to Jon! I got the impression that because she couldn't see anyone, she thought no one would come to see her. Even when her cage was opened she didn't come and say hello initially. Once she realised that we were there to see her - she came out and said hello. You might remember that Suzie was blind and could only distinguish very bright or dark patches.
We were eventually approved to take her and brought her home in October 2008. She hated the journey home as she disliked being in the car - but loved going into her carry box (for chilling or visiting the vets, which we could walk to).
Suzie was a funny cat - she loved the garden and the sofa but would not climb onto it. She would sit in the middle of the floor and look at you until you moved her to where she wanted to be.
She was a very lovely cat but loved being in control and arranging everything to her liking. She had beds in the living room, bedroom and the conservatory as well. She was a very fussy eater and would not eat the same thing twice in one week.
Unfortunately in late 2009 she developed serious kidney failure and died in late January 2010.
We have had a wonderful 16 months with Suzie and she will be sadly missed.
Everyone at HULA would like to thank Hellen and Jon for giving Suzie a second chance and such a wonderful home.
